How to Steal our Google Web Traffic

Mike Lyne

Australian businesses are searching for Bella + Canvas on Google in the hundreds every month. Here's how to capture that traffic for yourself.

Thanks for watching, and as promised here are the Bella + Canvas marketing resources.

No sound? Or prefer to read:

I recently noticed that our support team was getting repeated requests from end-user businesses trying to get hold of Bella & Canvas. So I decided to investigate.

I ran the Entity website URL through Ubersuggest to take a look at our top Google Search pages, and identify our top keywords.

This is what I found:

Entity Brands Top Traffic Pages - Bella & Canvas on top

Low and behold Bella + Canvas is currently our top page from Google, meaning more people are landing on that page from Google Search than any others.

Keeping my Sherlock cap on, it would make sense that if that’s our top page, then there should be a lot of people searching for Bella + Canvas on Google. So again, I looked at our top Google keywords.

Top Google keywords

And there it is, 'bella canvas' was being searched on Google 390 times, per month, in Australia.

Furthermore, the keyword ‘bella canvas australia’ was searched for on Google 110 times/month.

Searches for Bella & Canvas in Australia

Then further searches for:

  • bella and canvas
  • bella canvas 3001
  • bella canvas t shirts
  • bella and canvas australia

All up, the above brand searches total of 640 Google searches in a month!

This data, coupled with the fact we are receiving requests from businesses trying to get hold of Bella + Canvas means three things:

  1. Australian businesses are searching for Bella + Canvas on Google in the hundreds every month.
  2. Google is currently sending those people to our web page.
  3. There’s an amazing opportunity for uniform distributors to set up a dedicated page for Bella + Canvas and take that traffic from us.

Given we don’t deal directly with end-users, these requests are a bit of a pain, the obvious upside is we can send them to a uniform distributor as successful leads. But we’re a wholesaler, and our service team isn’t there to help end-user companies.

Meaning - someone please jump on this opportunity!

We would much rather you rank for the keyword/s, as it’s not our target market. But, it is yours, and any business with an online presence would love to have hundreds of additional potential customers landing on their website each month.

It’s easier than you think, given we’re picking up this search traffic with no investment in time or money in Search Engine Optimisation, you can set up a page that would outrank us fairly easily.

Here’s what you should do:

1. Create a website landing page dedicated to Bella + Canvas under a URL that contains the words ‘bella-canvas’, for example www.yourcompany.com.au/bella-canvas

Note I missed the ‘+’ out of Bella + Canvas to match the Google search:

2. Load the B+C products you want to promote onto the landing page.

To help, we created a Bella + Canvas resource page, which gives you the product data file for the website products, images and descriptions, along with some marketing resources. I’ll leave that link for you at the end of this piece.

3. Have a way to capture leads. If you don’t use an e-commerce platform, where someone can shop and buy/enquire directly from a product page, ensure you have a clear lead capture on the page or site, so that you can capture those interested in the products. An enquiry form should work.

This next bit gets a little technical, but can mean the difference between ranking high or low on Google.

4. Complete the page optimisation.

(Tip: Your website Content Management System should have a section specifically for SEO, with the below sections clearly outlined. If you use Wordpress for your website, download the Yoast plugin as a great free tool):

Page Header (H1): Bella + Canvas

Title Tag: Bella + Canvas - T-Shirts & Quality Blanks | Your Company

Meta description: Buy quality, print-ready t-shirts from Bella + Canvas in Australia.

(You can write your own Meta Description, just ensure you have the words ‘Bella + Canvas’ and ‘Australia’ in there.)

Sitemap: Ensure the page is listed on your sitemap (modern Content Management Systems should automatically update your sitemap, just ensure if there is a tick box to include a page on your sitemap it is ticked.)

Once you’ve completed the above it’s a waiting game; Google needs to ‘crawl’ your site, which can take anywhere from a few days to 6-months. Regardless, it’s not worth checking too often; instead start promoting the page through other digital channels, such as email and socials using these marketing and data resources.

I’m excited to see who takes top spot. Good luck!
